The popular Worimi Conservation Lands are located just north of Newcastle, encompassing the beautiful Stockton Bight and sanddunes. They are an extremely fragile ecosystem that contain a wealth of culturally significant sites.

In recent years the Lands have been ravaged by storms, and recreational use and abuse to the point where the Worimi board had to make the difficult decision to close sections of the beach to halt the degradation and allow time to regenerate.
